*Note - Parents accompanying their children are required to pay $15.00


Uniquely You has all the makings of a Charm School. The Lawton Inter-Tribal Women’s League sponsors this annual seminar as their only fund raising event which is held the 2nd Saturday of March. All proceeds from the seminar go towards the scholarship fund for Miss Indian Lawton. Contestants in the Miss Lawton Pageant are required to attend. Uniquely You is a great opportunity for you to prepare for your future or train to become a better contestant in the following areas:

  • Preparation For Interviews (Career or Pageant) –  Learn “tips” from Miss Lawton 2001, Terri Poahway, how to best prepare for interviews.  Interviewing skills are needed throughout your life,  whether it be for a job interview, these tips can assist young ladies who are preparing for Interviews in a Pageant Competition and can be beneficial for those preparing for college scholarship interviews.
  • Poise & Personality - Nicole Lockart, first runner up in Miss Lawton 2005 and Nesha Lozano, former model, will give advice on how to use poise and personality or if you are not in a pageant you can learn to build skills in self-esteem and self-confidence.
 
  • Image: Hair and Make-up  - Learn about creating a total image that best compliments your personality sponsored by Clinique, Dillard’s Department Store

  • Dressing For Success - Get expert advice on Dressing for Success in today’s competitive job market or how to dress for pageant interviews. Our professional instructor will cover pageant clothing preparation focusing on evening gown, interview suits and other social occasions. You must look your best whether your preparing for your career or a pageant.  Judges and Job Interviewers look for the person whom they feel can best represent the pageant or the company.   Their personnel will be the one who shows herself to be thoughtful, intelligent, articulate, aware, and poised.  The moment you walk through the door or walk on stage, people will know who you are and what your about by your personal appearance which is determined by  the choice of your clothing style.

  • Etiquette For Today’s Youth - Expert training by Francene Monenerkit, entrepeaneur and owner of her own etiquette training business. Francene maintains that “Social graces will take you a long way in our world today.” The most impressive young people today are those that are well mannered. Etiquette is a learned behavior and important in all aspects of social life. These skills will assist you in today’s job market, career preparation, pageants and many other social activities.
