 and Little Miss Indian Lawton


Miss Indian Lawton and Jr. Miss Indian Lawton
Miss Indian Lawton and Junior Miss Indian Lawton are unique pageants.  They are culturally based to help preserve Native American traditions and languages.  The two culturally based pageants personify the lifestyle of the modern Native American woman who lives in a modern world while keeping alive their traditions and cultures.  The contestants represent the essence of the Native American woman and different tribal cultures are represented, each brining something unique of their tradition with them.

Miss Indian and Junior Miss Indian Lawton public serves roles are one of community service and as a positive role model for Native American youth today.  The titles promote a means to form a bridge of understanding between the Native Americans and the Lawton community.
Little Miss Indian Lawton
In 2005, the Lawton Inter-Tribal Women's League established a "Little Star" program.  This mentorship of the contestants with a young Native American will undertake her responsibilities as a role model to our youth.  Each year the contestants of the Miss Indian Lawton Pageant will select a Little Star to walk with her during her Traditional Dress competition category.  The Little Stars chosen will then be considered as a contender to be selected as Little Miss Indian Lawton and she will reign for one year.
